Here is an original bartop dice game made to promote gambling in saloons in the late 1800's. The DeGrain's “Improved Dice and Game Apparatus” manufactured in Washington D.C.
The game consists of a wooden box with three windows on each side. One side show three dice while the opposite side shows the numerical value of the die rolls. To play one simple pushes the slider to spin the three reels on the inside of the box to show the outcome of the die roll. Winning bets were likely paid off by the bartender in whisky or cigars.
